PROJECT – THE SCATTER RAP CHALLENGE TV SPECIAL
SERVICES PROVIDED – STILL PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO PRODUCTION, STRATEGIC MARKETING, TV DISTRIBUTION
In 2013 IDMP was approached, by Rapala® and Cablea's, to help promote the product awareness of a new style of crank bait that the company had recently produced, The Rapala® Scatter Rap® as well as promote awareness of specific Cabela's products including a line of rain gear, rods and reels. The approach to marketing this specific product was to give six guys, five days, to fish one hundred miles of Lake of the Woods, from Kenora, ON to Baudette, MN, using nothing but the new lure.
The concept was to create semi-realtime video content that was distributed on a custom website and on social media channels, with the culmination of the event broadcasting on FOX Sports North. After other production companies turned down the project, Rapala contacted IDMP to produce the content and handle all the video production.
IDMP was tasked with taking 3 camera crews and video editors to the northwest angle to film in some of the most remote locations in Minnesota and Ontario, CA. IDMP not only handled the video production but also still photography on location and the studio to for the event.
